The Lost Lady Found

2021
For Saxophone Quartet
Duration: c. 3'

First performed on June 3, 2021 by the Capybara Quartet.

Program Note

A historic English folk song, The Lost Lady Found, is a simple strophic dance that, through its lyrics, captures the story of a young woman being rescued by her lover from gypsies. It has been adapted an arranged by a number of composers. Most notably, Percy Grainger in his Lincolnshire Posy, which is often regarded as the seminal orchestration of the tune. My aim, in this short saxophone quartet, was to honor this arranging tradition while continuing to expand from the original ballad
